After my A-levels I started my studies at the Faculty of Asian Languages at the Humboldt University Berlin in 1974. I graduated in 1979 as a translator/interpreter for English and Indonesian.

After my studies I worked as a technical translator/interpreter for ABB Automatisierungsanlagen GmbH Cottbus for many years and gathered experience in the field of electrical engineering, in particular in the electrical equipment of opencast mining machines and power stations.

Since 1998 I have been working as a freelance translator and interpreter. I mainly work for companies in the field of electrical engineering/ electronics, energy production and distribution, installation engineering and environmental protection, for educational institutions, foundations and advertising agencies.

As a sworn interpreter and accredited translator for the English language I work for courts, notaries public and lawyers. I am a member of the Association of Translators and Interpreters (VÜD).
